Our Brief History

CBS PEWOSA Nsindika Njake Eyeeterekera Cooperative Society Limited (CBS PEWOSA Cooperative Society) was formed to provide financial services to mature groups that were formed as part of CBS’s corporate social responsibility initiative under the CBS PEWOSA Project and supported by Strømme Foundation (SF) through its Community Managed Microfi nance (CMMF) program.

CMMG groups have been very effective in savings mobilization, credit utilization, and enhancement of
household incomes thus backing the development agenda of the Buganda Kingdom. CMMF groups
became numerous and so popular that they needed a visible institution to bring them all together and offer sustainable financial services. That is why the Cooperative Society was formed. To capitalize on the successes of the program and the establishment of the Cooperative Society, this Strategic plan is meant to give the Cooperative Society a road map for growth over the next five years.
